Please – Be Reconciled To God

“We are confident, yes, well pleased rather,
to be absent from the body
and to be present with the Lord.”
2 Corinthians 5:6-8
There aren’t many people who would be “well pleased” to die. When I see the heroics people go through to prolong their lives I’m mindful of the saying “if heaven is such a wonderful place, why do people try so hard to avoid it?”
Only someone who has been with the Lord and who has understanding of his Word can have the mindset that eagerly looks forward to being with Christ in heaven. Paul, who saw heaven, says:
“Eye has not seen, nor ear heard,
nor have entered into the heart of man
the things which God has prepared
FOR THOSE WHO LOVE HIM.”
1 Corinthians 2:9
Heaven is a very real place where very real people live. If you have a loved one who has gone there, be comforted in knowing that that person is NOT DEAD, but very much alive – living in a very wonderful place.
But just as heaven is very real, hell is too.
vs 11:
“Knowing, therefore, the terror of the Lord,
we persuade men;”
Those who know the Word of God know what hell is all about. Sadly, most people have no idea; but those who understand are driven to warn people and to pray for their salvation. Where one spends eternity depends on the choice made here and believers do all they can to help people make the right choice, knowing their choice will be eternal.
vs 20:
“Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ,
as though God were pleading through us:
we implore you on Christ’s behalf,
be reconciled to God.”
PLEASE …be reconciled to God.
