“For there is one God
and ONE MEDIATOR between God and men,

Some say all roads lead to heaven. That is NOT true. The Scriptures reveal to us the way of salvation – and state that there is only ONE way.

“Jesus said to him,
‘I am the way, the truth, and the life.
NO ONE comes to the Father EXCEPT through me.’”
John 14:6

The “offense of the Gospel” is its exclusiveness. The offense of the Gospel is the fact that God provided a savior, ONLY ONE savior, ONLY ONE way to heaven and no other. There is no other way and its exclusiveness is where many fall. Because they do not know the Lord, this seems crazy to them. But to a born-again person, it couldn’t be clearer.

“…to you who believe, he is precious,
but to those who are disobedient:
‘The stone which the builders rejected
has become the chief cornerstone,’
and ‘a stone of stumbling and A ROCK OF OFFENSE.’”
1 Peter 2:7-8

Jesus Christ came for one purpose – to bear the judgment on our sins in our place on that Cross. If there were other ways, the Son of God would not have had to suffer and die for us, that would have been unnecessary.

There must be something terrible to be avoided, for the Son of God to have to pay such a terrible price. If there were any other way, God would not have had him go through what he did to obtain our salvation.
