Sin By Any Other Name

“If we say that we have no sin,
we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
If we confess our sins,
he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins
and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
1 John 1:8-9

Nowadays sin goes by many names other than SIN.

Abortion goes by “women’s rights.” No — abortion is SIN.

Homosexuality goes by “an alternate lifestyle.” No — homosexuality is SIN.

“Living together” outside of marriage is so commonplace now that few acknowledge that it is sin, but it IS SIN.

Idolatry goes by “all paths lead to God.” No — all paths other than through the Savior, Jesus, are idolatry, it is SIN.

We replace the Creator with “the theory of evolution” and even fire teachers who would dare to present God as Creator. This is SIN. In fact, it’s one of the greatest of sins, denying God his right to be acknowledged as the Creator and replacing him with a “modern” view of how things came to be. What an insult!

We’ve put better-sounding names for sin because man thinks that this is what society has evolved to. No, society has not evolved, society has DEVOLVED. Nothing evolves – there is no mutation that is beneficial to the organism. All things devolve, because this is a fallen world and sin brought in the principle of DEATH, which is revealed in devolution.

God so loved the fallen world that he provided a Savior. No other deity died for our sins. Jesus alone did, and Jesus alone has the power to forgive sin. If we confess to him our SIN, calling it SIN and making no excuses, THEN he is faithful and just to forgive us our SINS and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1st John 1:9)

The only way to approach God is by acknowledging truth.
