God Provided Only ONE Way To Salvation

“For there is one God
and ONE Mediator between God and men,
the Man Christ Jesus…”
1st Timothy 2:5

Some say all roads lead to heaven. That is NOT true. The Scriptures reveal to us the way of salvation – and they state that there is only ONE way.

“Jesus said to him,
‘I am the way, the truth, and the life.
NO ONE comes to the Father EXCEPT through me.’”
John 14:6

The “offense of the Gospel” is its exclusiveness, the fact that God provided ONLY ONE savior, ONLY ONE way to heaven and no other.

“…to you who believe, he is precious,
but to those who are disobedient:
‘The stone which the builders rejected
has become the chief cornerstone,’
and ‘a stone of stumbling
and A ROCK OF OFFENSE.’”
1st Peter 2:7-8

Salvation depended on the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. We were all born into a fallen human nature prone to sin. A just God HAD to judge our sin. But he so loved the world that he sent his Son to bear our judgment in our place. That’s why the Gospel is exclusive – only one mediator bore our sin debt. He gave his life for us. That’s why there is only one way.

If there were other ways, the Son of God would not have had to die, it would have been unnecessary.

There must be something terrible to be avoided, for the Son of God to have to pay such a terrible price.
