A Deep And Awesome Prayer

Read this slowly, take in each word, digest the huge deposit of riches in this passage:

I pray that:

“…that he would grant you,
according to the riches of his glory,
to be strengthened with might
through his Spirit in the inner man,
that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith;
that you, being rooted and grounded in love,
may be able to comprehend with all the saints
what is the width and length and depth and height
― to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge,
that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.”
Ephesian 3:16-19

As Paul prays this wonderful prayer for those he led to Christ, so we might pray it also for those on our prayer list, after first praying it for our loved ones.

Read it again, meditate on it until you see what a powerful prayer this is. Pray it for yourself, and for those on your prayer list every day. This is a passage that is so deep, one could meditate on it continuously and never cease to “see” more and more in it.

May you truly come to comprehend the love of Christ which passes knowledge, and may you become filled with the fullness of God.
