“Therefore judge nothing before the time,
until the Lord comes,
who will both bring to light
the hidden things of darkness
and reveal the counsels of the hearts.”
1st Corinthians 4:5

In the most recent years, we’ve seen just how corrupt the world is. The chief men and women rise to power through evil means couched in secrecy. The riches of this world are often attained through conniving behind the scenes, using all manner of schemes known to man.

But when the Lord comes there will be nothing that is not brought to light. The things done in darkness behind the scenes, clandestinely, bribes, fraud, threats, manipulations and deals …all will be brought to the light and exposed for all to see. All that lies in “the counsels of the hearts” will be revealed.

Strive, therefore, to be pure in heart and live a clean life. This life is very temporary, while eternity is forever.

It’s not humanly possible to accomplish this spotless life because we live in a fallen human nature, but the Lord can create in us a NEW nature. Surrender your life to him and allow him to make you new.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a NEW creation;
old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”
2nd Corinthians 5:17

As we strive against our fallen human nature, let this be our prayer:

“CREATE IN ME a clean heart, O God,
and renew a right spirit within me.”
Psalm 51:10
