Be Conformed To His Sufferings – Willingly

“Even my own familiar friend
in whom I trusted, who ate my bread,
has lifted up his heel against me.”
Psalm 41:9
One day years ago, the Lord spoke to me during my prayer time saying that I would be conformed to his sufferings, and would but taste of the things he endured. Have you been betrayed by a loved one? Have you been rejected? These are things that Christ suffered, and in being conformed to his sufferings we will taste of them too.
“…that I may know him
and the power of his resurrection,
and the fellowship of his sufferings,
being conformed to his death…”
Philippians 3:10
But the story doesn’t end there. If we willingly submit to being conformed to his sufferings, we shall also reign with him. And that is a more glorious hope than anything we could imagine on this earth.
“If we endure, we shall also reign with him.”
2nd Timothy 2:12
Friends, we have to grow up in the faith. Our purpose in this life is not to be “happy.” We are called to surrender to the plan God has for each one, trusting him completely. Then we shall stand before him at the end and hear him say, “Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. ENTER INTO THE JOY OF YOUR LORD.”
Matthew 15:23
It will be more than worth it. A temporary investment for an eternal reward.
“For I consider that the sufferings
of this present time
are not worthy to be compared
with the glory which shall be revealed in us.”
Romans 8:18
The glory will be so great that the sufferings of the past will have been SO worth it!
