No One Will Be Saved By His Own Goodness

“For there is no difference,
for ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God…”
Romans 3:23

“ALL have sinned…”

That includes Mother Theresa, Billy Graham, the Pope, and you and me. Goodness, or good works will not save ANY human being.

“Therefore by the deeds of the law
no flesh will be justified in his sight…”
Romans 3:20

It even includes Mary the mother of Jesus, for she confessed the Lord as her SAVIOR (Luke 1:47) and in doing so she acknowledged that she is like all of us – in need of a Savior because “ALL” have sinned,” including her.

“There is none righteous, no, not one;”
Romans 3:10

We are all together sinners, and God has provided ONLY ONE way of salvation because the sin issue had to be dealt with. No one can enter heaven with the guilt of sin upon him – but God provided the atonement for those sins which was made for us by Jesus Christ the Son of God. He bore the judgment on my sins, on your sins. By faith in him, and in him ALONE, can we be saved. No one else, no founder of any other religion bore upon himself our guilt.

“ALL we like sheep have gone astray;
We have turned, EVERY ONE, to his own way;
and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.”
Isaiah 53:6

“Nor is there salvation in any other,
for there is no other name heaven given among men
by which we must be saved.”
Acts 4:12
