The Patience of Christ

“Now may the Lord direct your hearts
into the love of God and into the patience of Christ.”
2nd Thessalonians 3:5
The love of God and the patience of Christ don’t come automatically, nor by the effort of your will. That’s why the apostle uses the word, “MAY.” So then, pray it. Ask the Lord to direct your heart into the love of God and into the patience of Christ.
Don’t be discouraged, answered prayer usually takes awhile, that’s why you’re asking for “the patience of Christ.” I once asked the Lord, after praying about something for a very long time, “how long do I have to wait?” His answer to me was, “How long has my Son waited?” That answered my question for the rest of my life. “As long as it takes.” Jesus has yet to see some of the promises made to him, which will only happen when he comes. He is promised to sit upon the Throne of David in Jerusalem and rule the whole world (Luke 1:32-33). He still waits. But he knows those promises are absolutely guaranteed.
Though it tarry, the answer WILL come if you persist. May God grant you “the patience of Christ.”
Take courage therefore, and press on!
“And let us not grow weary while doing good,
for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.”
Galatians 6:9
