Peace Is Not The Absence of Stress

“Grace and peace be multiplied to you
in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord,
as his divine power has given to us all things
that pertain to life and godliness,
through the knowledge of him who called us
by glory and virtue…”
2nd Peter 1:2-3
It is in the knowledge of God that peace is found. All we need in life is given through the knowledge of him. And how does one come into the knowledge of him? Two ways. The first is to ask for it. The second is to be nourished by his Word daily, from Genesis to Revelation.
“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you;
NOT AS THE WORLD GIVES do I give to you.”
John 14:27
The peace he gives is not the kind of peace that the world gives. Generally, the world would define peace as the absence of stress. No, his peace is far greater than that. Only in experiencing it can one understand that no matter what is going on in our lives, no matter what the stress, his peace will keep us. The world cannot give this kind of peace. It is a supernatural gift of God.
“…and the peace of God,
WHICH SURPASSES ALL UNDERSTANDING,
will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:7
In your difficulty, call upon the Name of the Lord and ask for that deep peace that only he can give. Once you receive it, you will be amazed.
