God Is Near To The Wounded

“But you, O God the Lord,
deal with me for your Name’s sake.
Because your mercy is good, deliver me,
for I am poor and needy,
and my heart is wounded within me.”
Psalm 109:21-22

The Lord opposes the proud in heart, but cares deeply for the humble who are broken. Turn to him in your distress and you will find mercy.

“The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart,
and saves such as have a contrite spirit.”
Psalm 34:18

If you’re hanging on by a mere thread, if you’re wounded, bruised, if your fire has been almost quenched, turn to the One who is standing ready to receive you. He can bring new life to you.

“A bruised reed he will not break,
and smoking flax he will not quench…”
Matthew 12:20

Hear what he says to the broken:

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,
because he has anointed me
to preach the gospel to the poor;
He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted,
to proclaim liberty to the captives
and recovery of sight to the blind,
to set at liberty those who are oppressed;”
Luke 4:18

If that’s you, turn to the one who brought you into this world and who stands ready to give you a new life when you surrender all to him.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ,
he is a new creation;
old things have passed away;
behold, all things have become new.”
2nd Corinthians 5:17

Turn your broken life over to him today and see what he will do in you.
