Do You Know Him? Does He Know You?

“Now by this we know that we know him,
if we keep his commandments.
He who says, ‘I know Him,’
and does not keep his commandments,
is a liar, and the truth is not in him.”
1st John 2:3-4
When one is born again, there is a transformation that takes place inside. God, who had been only a faint thought before, now becomes everything to the believer, and thus begins the desire in every born-again believer to keep his commandments, to follow him with the whole heart. This doesn’t happen because the person just wants to be “good,” no, it is a supernatural change of heart.
When someone claims to know Christ but lives for self and for the devil, the truth is not in this one. He is self-deceived.
“Many will say to me in that day,
‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in your name,
cast out demons in your name,
and done many wonders in your name?’
And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you;
depart from me, you who practice lawlessness!’”
Matthew 7:22-23
The important question is: does he know YOU?
“Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith.
Test yourselves.”
2nd Corinthians 13:5
