What Answer Would You Give?

“But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts,
and always be ready to give a defense
to everyone who asks you a reason
for the hope that is in you…”
1st Peter 3:15

If someone were to ask you why you believe, would you be able to give an answer?

Are you a believer because that’s the way you were brought up? The Lord once spoke to an author I was reading and said, “God has no grandchildren.” Surprised, he asked the Lord what he meant by that. The Lord told him that you can’t be saved on your parents’ merits. Being born in a barn does not make you a cow. Growing up in a Christian home does not make you a Christian. Each person must experience being born again for themselves.

“Most assuredly, I say to you,
UNLESS one is born of water and the Spirit,
he cannot ENTER the kingdom of God.
That which is born of the flesh is flesh,
and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.”
John 3:5-6

vs 7:
Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You MUST be born again.’

Have you been born again? According to what Jesus said, it’s not a suggestion, it’s crucial.

If you have not been born again, or if you’re not sure, get on your knees and in total surrender sincerely ask the Lord to receive you and bring you into eternal life. Ask to be born again. Ask him for the forgiveness of your sins, and ask him to become the Lord of your life – meaning he becomes the owner as you surrender your life to him.

I assure you, you will never regret it.
