Oh The Annoyance Of Endless Chatter

“It is better to dwell in a corner of a housetop,
than in a house shared with a contentious woman.”
Proverbs 25:24
There are women whose mouths never stop complaining. You know how it feels being in her presence with her never-ending chatter. Imagine then, how it is for the man or child who has to live with her. It wears them out. They seek a corner that they can flee to just to get away from her.
Wives, mothers, don’t be a never-ending nag. It’s ugly, and it can never produce something good, it only makes you repulsive, the kind of person that no one wants to be around. Turn to the Word of God instead and surrender to his admonition to be quiet. A complaining woman is detestable, but gentleness and quiet is beautiful to all.
“…with the incorruptible beauty
of a gentle and quiet spirit,
which is very precious in the sight of God.”
1st Peter 3:4
Consider that continuous chatter is actually sin:
“In the multitude of words sin is not lacking,
but he who restrains his lips is wise.”
Proverbs 10:19
And also consider that continuous nagging will never, ever produce something good.
“…the wrath of man does not
produce the righteousness of God.”
James 1:20
The gentle and quiet spirit can diffuse a situation, bringing calmness to all around.
“The tongue of the wise uses knowledge rightly,
but the mouth of fools pours forth foolishness.”
Proverbs 15:2
A woman is the heart of the home. Let her therefore be wise in her speaking and gentle in her admonitions.
“Let your speech always be with grace,
seasoned with salt,
that you may know how
you ought to answer each one.”
Colossians 4:6
This woman will be loved by all and successful in all she does.
