“For there is one God
and ONE mediator between God and men,
the man Christ Jesus…”
1st Timothy 2:5

Some say all roads lead to heaven. That is NOT true. The Scriptures reveal to us the way God provided salvation to mankind, and the Scriptures state that that is the ONLY way.

“Jesus said to him,
‘I am the way, the truth, and the life.
NO ONE comes to the Father EXCEPT through me.’”
John 14:6

The “offense of the Gospel” is its exclusiveness, the fact that God provided ONLY ONE savior, ONLY ONE way to heaven.

“…to you who believe, he is precious,
but to those who are disobedient:
‘The stone which the builders rejected
has become the chief cornerstone,’
and ‘a stone of stumbling and A ROCK OF OFFENSE.’”
1st Peter 2:7-8

If there were other ways, the Son of God would not have had to be crucified, that would have been unnecessary.

There must be something terrible to be avoided for the Son of God to pay such a terrible price.

When Jesus died upon that Cross, there were two criminals who were crucified alongside him, one on his left and the other on his right. One mocked him, but the other asked Jesus to receive him, and Jesus did. Those two criminals crucified alongside Jesus Christ represent the whole world: one represents those SINNERS who reject him, and the other represents those SINNERS who receive him and surrender to him. The one goes into a Christ-less eternity, the other spends eternity with the one who saved him. Make the right choice. Your eternity depends on it.
