Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet
By Grace Alone

“May the Lord our God be with us,
as he was with our fathers.
May he not leave us nor forsake us,
that he may incline our hearts to himself,
to walk in all his ways,
and to keep his commandments
and his statutes and his judgments…”
1st Kings 8:57-58
“…that he may INCLINE our hearts to himself…”
Part of the intercession you make for unsaved loved ones might include this phrase, “that you, Lord, incline his/her heart to yourself…” for it is all by grace, all of it. Even the ability to take an interest in the things of the Lord is a work of grace, for only God can incline a man’s heart to himself. Pray therefore that the grace of God come upon your loved one to soften and turn his/her heart to the Lord.
And above all, be patient. Before God brings the answer to your prayers, he sets up the circumstances needed for the story to come to completion. Sometimes this takes a very long time, as stories often do. Put your trust in the Lord and wait on him. Continue your intercession and you will finally see the answer to your prayers, and it will be greater than what you hoped for.
