Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet

Does God Mean What He Says?

“Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil;”
Isaiah 5:20

If ever a passage fit the conditions of this time in history, this one does.

More and more society calls evil what is good. Those who speak of the truth are called haters, homophobes, right-wing fundamentalists, and many, MANY other names called upon those who speak of the Word of God as though God meant what he said.

Pretty much anything goes now. God, they say, did not create the universe, it “evolved.” Why? Because if they were to acknowledge that God created it, that would be to admit the natural consequence of that — that we are not free moral agents, we are created beings, there is a God to whom we must give account.

In America an unborn child is not a child but a fetus, something society has a “right” to murder. And murder they do — millions upon millions of murdered babies whose blood cries out to God. And you can be sure – God hears.

Not only do the immoral demand “rights,” they parade their sin with pride. If anyone dare express what God has to say about it, they will be punished by society and called evil. The sin is now good, and expressing that it is sin is now deemed evil.

When God uses the word “woe,” you’d better believe woe is coming.

vs 24
“Therefore, as the fire devours the stubble,
and the flame consumes the chaff,
so their root will be as rottenness,
and their blossom will ascend like dust;
BECAUSE they have rejected the law of the Lord of hosts,
and despised the WORD of the Holy One of Israel.”

Their root is rotten. The fire is on its way. The flame will consume them.

Of that, there is no doubt because …it is the Word of God that says it.
