Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet

There Is No Pit So Deep But God Is Deeper Still

“God is our refuge and strength,
a very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear
even though the earth be removed,
and though the mountains be carried
into the midst of the sea,
though its waters roar and be troubled,
though the mountains shake with its swelling.”
Psalm 46:1-3

There is no place, no circumstance, in which God cannot be reached. For his people he is their refuge and strength, no matter what, no matter where.

“Where can I go from your Spirit?
Or where can I flee from your presence?
If I ascend into heaven, you are there;
if I make my bed in sheol, behold, you are there;
if I take the wings of the morning,
and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,
even there your hand shall lead me,
and your right hand shall hold me.”
Psalm 139:7-10

Corrie Ten Boom, one of the saintliest women who ever lived, watched her beloved sister Betsie die while they were in the Ravensbruck concentration camp in Germany. Corrie was heartsick as she watched her sister’s suffering. But before she died, Betsie, though in great suffering, said to her, “There is no pit so deep that God is not deeper still.”

That is the POWER of God enabling his people to remain IN HIM in any circumstance, at all times, no matter what, no matter where. There is no suffering so deep that God is not deeper still.
