Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet

See Him All Around You

“A father of the fatherless,
a defender of widows,
is God in his holy habitation.”
Psalm 68:5

Have you found yourself alone? Has your spouse died or left you? Do you have fear as to how you’ll get along alone? Turn your heart to the Lord. He proclaims himself a father to the fatherless and a defender of widows. Ask him to take over these roles in your life, AND HE WILL. You will be amazed. He who knows the number of hairs on your head will certainly provide help when you need it.

vs 6:
“God sets the solitary in families…”

Are you estranged from your family? Have they rejected you? Turn to the Lord. He takes the lonely and puts them in families, not the families they were born into, but the great family of God. Oftentimes the family of God that he raises up for the lonely is closer than ever their natural family was. Ask him to raise up a family around you. He will. Perhaps he already has and you haven’t recognized that those he has put around you are the gift of family that he has established for you.

“…but the rebellious dwell in a dry land.”

Those who live in rebellion will be on their own because they have rejected God and put their trust in themselves. Their lives will not be satisfying; if they have riches there will be only temporary joy in them.

vs 9:
“You, O God, sent a plentiful rain,
whereby you confirmed your possession,
when it was weary.”

When you are weary, when you are overwhelmed, look for the evidences of God’s provision all around you.

Oh weary one, be refreshed and encouraged as you realize he is near and that he watches over you with an everlasting love surrounding you …if only you have eyes to see.
