When God Gives A Nation A Perverse Spirit

“The Lord has mingled a perverse spirit in her midst,
and they have caused Egypt to err in all her work,
as a drunken man staggers in his vomit.”
Isaiah 19:14
In context, this passage is speaking of Egypt and the destruction that will be levied against her. But notice the parallel to America, because that’s exactly what has happened here. Never in the history of America has such a perverse spirit taken over the populace, and it truly does cause those who recognize what’s happening – to stagger and want to vomit.
It’s amazing that the Scripture actually points out that it’s the Lord himself who puts a perverse spirit on a nation he’s preparing to judge, a spirit that brings the people into deception, causing them “to err.” Would God do that? A thorough study of the Scriptures reveals that he surely would when his repeated and heartfelt warnings go unheeded, when his cries to the people to repent and not bring judgment on themselves are rejected or ignored.
“WHEREFORE GOD ALSO GAVE THEM UP
to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts…”
Romans 1:24
vs 28:
“And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge,
GOD GAVE THEM OVER to a debased mind…”
There comes a time when God withdraws his offers of redemption. There comes a time when judgment is going to fall and it’s too late to turn back. This really opposes the “gospel” of prosperity, doesn’t it! The people who cling to the “your best life now” mentality just won’t get it, and when judgment falls they’ll be taken by surprise – as the world was taken by surprise when the raindrops began falling in the flood of Noah’s time.
Make sure you are in the ark, friends. All outside of it will perish.
