“Do not let your adornment be outward,
arranging the hair, wearing gold,
or putting on fine apparel;
rather let it be the hidden person of the heart,
with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit,
which is very precious in the sight of God.”

Priorities. Which matters most, what you wear and the way you look? Or is your focus on the hidden person of the heart? The former is going to pass away. The latter is what will last forever.

Royalty, kings, queens, tv and movie stars, media speakers, and the rich of this world, are all about what they wear and how they look. But many of the ones idolized on this earth will not even be found in heaven. Their pomp and their pride will not have availed them anything but shame. On the other hand, the ones who made the principles of the Kingdom of God their focus, will live with Christ forever. And there, “many who are first will be last, and the last first” (Matthew 19:30).

Be in the right group! Change your focus.

“For you see your calling, brethren
that not many wise according to the flesh
not many mighty, not many noble, are called
But God has chosen the foolish things of the world

and God has chosen the weak things of the world
