Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet

Though It Seem Right It May Be Wrong

“Show me your ways, O Lord,
teach me your paths.
Lead me in your truth and teach me,
for you are the God of my salvation,
on you I wait all the day.”
Psalm 25:4-5

The right way is not something the wisdom of man can determine. Man seeks to enlarge himself, he sets his path according to the way he thinks will bring him the most happiness, wealth, success. But this can be deadly because what seems right to a man, may actually be the way to ruin.

“There is a way that SEEMS RIGHT to a man,
but its end is the way of death.”
Proverbs 12:12

The Lord’s plan for each life may be different from the plan a man has set up for himself. To reach the plan God has for him, he must first humble himself and place his trust not in himself, but in the Creator who brought him into the world.

God’s plan for each person is unique. It has been predetermined and he has been equipped with the gifts, talents and personality appropriate to that plan. No one else can play one’s role, nor can one play someone else’s role. If God’s plan for one’s life is not fulfilled, all that would have come from it is lost. The most important thing a human being can do is to seek the Lord’s will and plan for his life, and then give himself wholly and entirely to it. It is crucial. That plan and purpose is of eternal value.

Pray with me:
Lord, I’ve made my own way according to my own goals, but now I realize that before I was ever brought into the world you had a plan and purpose for my life. Please reveal to me that plan and set me on the path you have predetermined for me, and I will follow it.
