Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet

The Grand Reunion

“For the Lord himself will descend from heaven
with a shout, with the voice of an archangel,
and with the trumpet of God.
And the dead in Christ will rise first;
then we who are alive and remain
shall be caught up together with them
in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air.
And thus we shall always be with the Lord.
THEREFORE COMFORT ONE ANOTHER WITH THESE WORDS.”
1st Thessalonians 4:16-18

This is one of the most glorious passages in the entire Bible. It speaks of the day when all the awfulness of this world will be over for those who are in Christ.

. It speaks of the day when we will see our Savior face to face, and from then on, we will be with him forever.

. It speaks of the great reunion with loved ones who have gone before.

. And finally, we are told to use this passage to comfort one another. I can’t think of anything more powerful to comfort one another with.

This counsel to “comfort one another with these words” is one of the many proof-texts showing the pre-tribulation Rapture. Otherwise, how could we comfort one another with the promise of suffering through the Tribulation? Jesus said the suffering of that time will be greater than anything the world has ever experienced or ever will afterward.

“For then there will be great tribulation,
such as has not been since the beginning of the world
until this time, no, nor ever shall be.”
Matthew 24:21

Be comforted, all born-again friends, the Rapture takes place before the first seal is ever opened. Our homecoming is nigh – and with this I hope to comfort you. We’re going home – to be reunited with our loved ones – forever.
