Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet
Save Me From Those Who Rise Up Against Me

“Deliver me from my enemies, O my God,
defend me from those who rise up against me.
Deliver me from the workers of iniquity,
and save me from bloodthirsty men.”
Psalm 59:1-2
The leaders of this world hate and persecute believers. They pass laws that entrap believers. The workers of iniquity come against those who speak the truth and they call it evil; for surely today evil is called good and good is called evil. Good is opposed, scorned, laughed at, and victimized.
And for what? Through no fault of their own, but for believing the Word of God.
Vs 3-4:
“For look, they lie in wait for my life,
the mighty gather against me,
not for my transgression nor for my sin, O Lord,
they run and prepare themselves through no fault of mine.”
Their pride will come to its end, and their blasphemy will be judged harshly.
Vs 12:
“For the sin of their mouth and the words of their lips,
let them even be taken in their pride,
and for the cursing and lying which they speak.”
The proud will certainly fall. The highest court in the land has been turned to evil, but there is yet another court higher than that one. The Word of the Highest will cause the fall of the evil ones. Great judgments will be coming to them.
On that day, believers will stand in awe of the power of God; they will sing of his mercy and render thanksgiving that he has acted in their defense. On that day evil tongues will be stopped and righteousness will reign. He will rule with a rod of iron and all rebellion will cease.
Vs 16:
“But I will sing of your power,
yes, I will sing aloud of your mercy in the morning;
for you have been my defense
and refuge in the day of my trouble.
