Birth And Death

Birth and Death
One is the picture of the other.

Birth scenes

At the time of birth, the baby is forced to leave his warm watery environment, and is violently pushed out into a totally different world. He travels through the tunnel called the birth canal and lands in the loving hands of doctors and nurses who will clean him up and take care of him, and they wrap his body in blankets as he screams for dear life! He has no idea of the world he has come into and the many discoveries he will make as he learns the ways of his new world. There are loved ones standing by in a waiting room, just SO excited to get a glimpse of this new little life. It is one of the most joyous occasions in life.

Death’s similarities

As a person lay dying, again there are loved ones standing by to witness this event, but they are sad. They watch as the dying person leaves the world he has known, often for many years. He’s being transported to a very different environment. He has no idea of the world he is coming into and the many discoveries he will make as he learns the ways of this new life. Finally he is violently pushed out of his known environment for the place he has never seen. Some who have been allowed to come back speak of traveling through a tunnel. When he exits the tunnel – there will be also “a cloud of witnesses” joyously awaiting his arrival with great anticipation. When he arrives there will be many who will teach him about his new world. It’s so very different from what he has known that he is like the newborn who is only at the beginning of the unknown journey.

Death is not an ending. Like birth, it is just the beginning.
