Away In A Manger
He could have come in royal splendor, but he chose the great humility of a manger. He came to identify with us so that he could save us.
The next time he comes, he will come in the royal splendor he has held since before the foundation of the world. And he will raise up all believers, his bride, to a splendor they couldn’t now even imagine.
Away In A Manger
Away in a manger, no crib for a bed,
the little Lord Jesus laid down His sweet head;
the stars in the heavens looked down where He lay,
the little Lord Jesus asleep on the hay.
Be near me, Lord Jesus; I ask Thee to stay
close by me forever, and love me, I pray.
Bless all the dear children in Thy tender care,
and fit us for heaven, to live with Thee there.
