From the beginning, the deity of Jesus was established in the Old Testament:

. A Child Is God

“For unto us a CHILD is born,
unto us a Son is given;
and the government will be upon his shoulder.
Wonderful, Counselor, MIGHTY GOD,
ETERNAL FATHER, Prince of Peace.”
Isaiah 9:6

This Old Testament Scripture presents a child being born, a child who is “the mighty God,” and “the eternal Father.”
