Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet

The Story Completed

“They shall neither hunger anymore
nor thirst anymore;
the sun shall not strike them, nor any heat,
for the Lamb who is in the midst of the Throne
will shepherd them and lead them
to living fountains of waters.
And God will wipe away every tear
from their eyes.”
Revelation 7:16-17

The one who condescended to come into our world in a manger in Bethlehem so that he could save us – will return and finish the story when his foot touches down on the Mount of Olives in Israel, (Zechariah 14:4). He will destroy the wicked and will take up his Throne on the Seat of David in Jerusalem where he will usher in peace and joy and righteousness, and all that is good.

The pain of this world will be left behind along with all the heartache and suffering. No more sorrow, no more pain, no more separations, no more loss – God will wipe away every tear and they will know only joy.

Thus the story will be complete – the story that began in a feeding trough in Bethlehem, fulfilled on a Cross – the very reason he came, and secured by the resurrection from the dead.

The gift of himself – for all who will believe.
