Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet

Using A Method Won’t Work

“And on some have compassion,
making a distinction, but others save with fear,
pulling them out of the fire,
hating even the garment defiled by the flesh.”
Jude 1:22-23

Do you have a method, a certain way of speaking to unsaved persons? This passage in the book of Jude advises us NOT to have a “method” because only the Spirit of God knows how to reach a person. Sometimes it will be through confrontation, using fear. Others, the Holy Spirit knows, should be reached through compassion. Which will work?

We can never know HOW to approach a person, and therefore we MUST have the mind of the Holy Spirit in every situation we find ourselves in. Therefore it is vitally important that we are prepared with continual prayer, asking the Lord to be in control, to put us in the right place at the right time, praying for the right words under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit to reach the heart of the person he puts in our path.

“..pray always with all prayer
and supplication in the Spirit
..and for me, that utterance may be GIVEN to me…”
Ephesians 6:18-19

The apostle understood this well. So well, that he asked believers to PRAY that “utterance” may be GIVEN to him – to him, probably the greatest man in Christendom since Jesus walked the earth. This passage truly points out the necessity of prayer, of intercession, requesting that utterance be given us.

The most important thing we can do in our individual calling is to put in our prayer time.
