Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet
I Want It Now

“For since the beginning of the world
men have not heard nor perceived by the ear,
nor has the eye seen any God besides you,
who acts for the one who WAITS for him.”
Isaiah 64:4
One of the most difficult things in the Christian walk is waiting. We have a need and we want it filled now. We are like babies crying for milk while our mothers are heating the bottle up, unaware that our crying won’t reduce the time it takes to get it ready. Babies don’t have patience. Young Christians don’t have patience. They search the Scriptures to find passages they can use in prayer to get what they want NOW.
It doesn’t work that way.
God’s purpose in us is not to satisfy our desires but it’s to raise us up correctly to bring us to maturity. And that involves patience. While he’s heating the bottle up – wait! For those whose hearts are at peace with that, the reward will be great.
“My brethren, count it all joy
when you fall into various trials,
knowing that the testing of your faith
produces patience.
But let patience have its perfect work,
that you may be perfect and complete,
lacking nothing.”
James 1:2-4
Let God have his perfect way in your life. He has a plan uniquely drawn for you personally. Cooperate with him. Praise him. Thank him for the perfect plan he has outlined for your life. The day will come when you will rejoice in it.
