Of Chains And Choices

“I will set nothing wicked before my eyes;
I hate the work of those who fall away;
it shall not cling to me.
A perverse heart shall depart from me;
I will not know wickedness.”
Psalm 101:3-4
“I will set nothing wicked before my eyes” …
It’s only after one has been delivered from some bondage that he can appreciate the wonder of being set free. I can attest to that, because I have been delivered from several things that had kept me in bondage from my childhood, as almost everyone has. We are born in a fallen human nature and into a fallen world, consequently there will be things in our lives that we have no control over. There IS a solution. Cry out to the Lord for deliverance. There IS deliverance, you CAN be set free.
“He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted,
to proclaim liberty to the captives
and recovery of sight to the blind,
to set at liberty those who are oppressed;”
Luke 4:18
I can SO relate to the words of this song:
“Sometimes this cross gets so heavy,
but each day I take it up again,
cause I know its weight is so much lighter
than the chains that kept me bound in sin.”
-Lyrics to “This Cross,” by Del Way
