Success Means Adversaries

“For a great and effective door has opened to me,
and there are many adversaries.
…Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong.”
1st Corinthians 16:9, 13
Adversaries come whenever there is true ministry. This should not ever be surprising to us, and if you truly understand this, the attacks should not be upsetting either. Satan will oppose every work of God, and in an effort to discourage the believer, he will be relentless in his attacks. The believer should actually take it as encouragement; if hell opposes, the work must be valuable.
If you have become weary in being bombarded with troubles, realize that these very troubles are evidence of the effectiveness of your ministry. Do not give up, even if you don’t see results now. When we get to heaven we will understand why we were constantly attacked, and in heaven we will see the fruit of our labor…the souls that were saved, but were unbeknowned to us as we toiled,
“…but rejoice to the extent
that you partake of Christ’s sufferings,
that when his glory is revealed,
you may also be glad with exceeding joy.”
1st Peter 4:13
“…rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation,
continuing steadfastly in prayer;”
Romans 12:12
