Do Not Be Spiritually Anorexic

“Now may the God of peace
himself sanctify you completely,
and may your whole spirit, soul, and body
be preserved blameless
at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it.”
1st Thessalonians 5:23-24
“Sanctify you completely…”
When we are born again, we are transferred out of the world and into the Kingdom of God. It’s a total change. We then begin a life-long process of being “sanctified completely.” Just as a child grows, so we must grow up in the Lord, learning his ways, experiencing his discipline, constantly being encouraged, reminded of his faithfulness, learning to trust him implicitly. This process can be stopped, or it can be quickened depending on the amount of time one spends in prayerful communion with him, and in feeding in his Word which he has given us for our growth.
“But we all, with unveiled face,
beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord,
are being transformed into the same image
FROM GLORY TO GLORY,
just as by the Spirit of the Lord.”
2nd Corinthians 3:18
The mirror showing the glory of the Lord is his Word. Feed on it daily, meditate on it, grow in it, NEVER neglect it. Just as your body needs food to grow, your spirit needs the Word of God to grow.
Don’t be spiritually anorexic, feed liberally in the Word of God every day of your life.
