“The mouth of the righteous speaks wisdom,
and his tongue talks of justice.
The law of his God is in his heart;
none of his steps shall slide.”
Psalm 37:30-31

There is such a huge difference between walking in righteousness because of fear, versus walking in righteousness because God has put his laws into one’s heart. When God has put his laws into our heart we actually WANT to do right. There’s a world of difference between his laws written on stone, versus his laws written on our hearts – no fallen human being can satisfy the law written on stone. What makes the difference? What makes one able? Jesus said a sinner, each one of us, needs to be born again. That changes EVERYTHING.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ,
he is a new creation;
old things have passed away;
behold, all things have become new.”
2nd Corinthians 5:17

It is the life of God within that makes the human being actually desire good and resist evil. The old nature cannot do it, the old nature is all about self. The new nature changes everything. The Spirit of God within watches over the soul carefully and guides the believer into all that is right.

“Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling,
and to present you faultless
before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,
to God our Savior, who alone is wise,
be glory and majesty, dominion and power,
both now and forever.”
Jude 1:24-25

ASK for it. ASK him to put his laws into your heart and teach you his ways. ASK him that you might be born again. ASK …and you shall receive.
